Amazon Prime Now - Amazon Prime Now delivers groceries to your door step. From what I’m understanding some of those products are delivered directly by Amazon, and others from the supermarket chain “Unes”.

American Crunch – This website has just about any and everything you could ever dream about getting from the USA, UK, and Australia: oreos, vegemite, Betty Crocker cake mix,

Cortilia - “La campagna a casa” which loosely translates into “the farm to your doorstep”. On their website you’ll find ingredients from local farms and artisan food producers. My husband and I tried this service a few years ago, and it has since improved significantly, with a wide array of products from different categories (from fruits and veggies to fresh fish to all natural fabric detergents). If you manage to use get a slot, you can use this discount code (AMICO-Z2TRF) to get 10 euro off your delivery over 59 euros. (Keep in mind, this discount code is only for the first few users, so go get it while it lasts.)

Eataly – Eataly is the global supermarket powerhouse that specializes in premium high quality Italian goods. Their online store will deliver to many locations in central Milan. Perhaps because of the higher prices or because people don’t associate it with food delivery, it has been the easiest places for us to get “last minute” deliveries from.

Esselunga - Esselunga is probably the most important super market chain in Milan in terms of volume. Their home delivery service was already quite established (well known and widely utilized), even before C-19. As a result it’s where most of Milan turns to to get their groceries delivered online. Accordingly, it makes sense that it’s very hard to get a delivery slot here, but it doesn’t hurt to try. From what we’re seeing their delivery slots are released at midnight. Good luck!

Naturasi - This Italian supermarket chain specializes in organic goods. We went onto their site a few days ago and it let us pick a few things for delivery. I tried the site again today, the day I’m writing this post, and not so much luck. I get the impression that they let you order when they have slots. So like almost all of these you kind of have to go to their website and pray.

Peck - Peck is synonymous with specialty food in Milan. Their online store seems to only offer shelf stable goods (but that hey that includes their incredible wine selection). However, their website also says that you can write their customer service team at delivery@peck.it to order from their selection of fresh products. Plus, they say they’ll deliver to your door with in three ours from when you order. We have yet to try this service, so if you do, please let me know how it goes.

Picard - Is a French company that specializes in frozen goods. Being French that have a wide selection of French dishes. They also have a big selection of “international” non Italian dishes. You either order online and have it sent to your home or pick it up at one of their stores.

Small Producers

Elleesse Formaggio and Chicken - (Cheese and Poultry) They have two stores at the Wagner market. Their cheese counter has one of most varied  selections of cheese I’ve ever seen in Milan and their poultry counter sells things to chicken, goose, duck etc to prepare at home and cooked rotisserie items. You can also check them out on Instagram.

Effecorta - The idea behind “effecorta” is to reduce the amount of middle men to get (food) goods to the end consumer. Their website isn’t pretty but it seems to get the job done. Plus they sell a wide array of products from organic food to essential oils to cat litter.

Gusto e Fantasia (Butcher) - I adore the duo behind this brand Claudio and Claudio. They have only the best meat from Italy and around the world. Think grass fed Alago lamb from the hills of Italy, certified slow food beef, jamon patanegra from Spain, wagu beef from Japan… You can follow them on Instagram for updates on what they have in house, discounts etc. I’m looking forward to what yumminess they’ll be delivering to my house for Easter.

Il Mercato di Porta Romana  - This is covered market offers products direct to the consumer from small producers and/or producers that are particularly attentive to eco-sustainability. Their delivery service consists in 3 baskets with varying amounts of seasonal produce, dairy products and/or meats. To order call them during market hours at +39.02.54.102.735. During that time, you can schedule your delivery date and time.

The market is open to the public Monday and Saturday from 8am – 2pm and on Fridays from 4pm – 9pm. You can also check out their Facebook page for up to the date info.

Wine Delivery

Svinando – Can I just say that I love the fact that in Italy wine is still being delivered, so I’m guessing its considered an “essential” item. Svinando offers an impressive array of wines from all over Italy (and the world) at lots of different price points, and they’ll deliver it right to your door. Cheers. (Please drink safely and adhere to any rules and laws that apply wherever you are.)

Winelivery - Want a drink and want it asap? Winelivery has wines, beers, and even cocktail kits. I’ve never used the app but the website says that it will arrive to your house in about 30 minutes, ready to open (aka Order bubbles, it will arrive nice and cold). Which sounds pretty good, right?!?! (Remember guys to drink responsibly and adhere to any rules and laws that apply wherever you are.)
